Ancora una foto a raccontare la sofferenza di chi ha perso tutto. Personalmente non trovo niente di romantico nelle scelte estreme che qualcuno crede si nascondano dietro stracci e disperazione, quasi sempre non sono scelte ma esiti nefasti dell’esistenza, la perdita di tutto, della dignità innanzitutto e dell’ umanità, l’umanità degli altri.

Gli homeless che ho incontrato finora non sono certo i giovani ribelli ritratti magnificamente da Kitra Kahana, consapevoli, ancorché fuggiaschi ed emarginati. Queste persone sono emarginate e basta, dei rovinati, dei destinati a una morte imminente, con la salute cagionevole vivono come cani randagi ai margini della società che li ha espulsi, ne sono le scorie sociali, ma non se ne vanno, restano esattamente laddove si sono smarriti, e continuano a trascinarsi dietro quegli oggetti inutili, il solo legame che resta con la vita passata..

Io non vedo niente di romantico, vedo solo grande sofferenza, come in questa foto:

Another picture to tell the suffering of those who have lost everything. I don’t see anything romantic in these lives, these  extreme choices that are hiding behind rags and despair.

They almost always have no choices but simply undergo the adverse outcomes of their existences, the loss of everything, and above all the dignity and 'humanity, the humanity of others.

The homeless people I've met so far are not the young rebels magnificently portrayed  by Kitra Kahana, who are aware, who choose, allthough they live as refugees and remain marginalized in the society.

These people I met are just marginalized and nothing else, their life ruined, condamned to a precocious death, they live like stray dogs at the margins of the same society that expelled them, they are social waste, but do not go away and hang exactly there  where they got lost.

You see them hanging around and pulling those useless objects which are the only bond and legacy from their the past life … I do not see anything romantic, I see only great suffering, as in this photo.
